Moenomycin is a natural product glycolipid that inhibits the growth of a broad spectrum of Gram-positive bacteria. Moenomycin inhibits bacterial growth by blocking the transglycosylase activity of class A penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), which are key enzymes in bacterial cell wall synthesis.
